This website is the official blog for Phonox, an open-source AI-powered vinyl collection management tool. The project is maintained by Hoshi42 and hosted on GitHub (github.com/Hoshi42/phonox) .

This blog provides informational articles, release notes, and tutorials related to the Phonox project. Nothing published here constitutes professional legal, financial, insurance, or investment advice.

2. Valuation & Price Estimates — No Financial Advice

Phonox may display estimated market values for vinyl records. These valuations are:

Phonox uses AI language and vision models (including Anthropic Claude) to identify records, extract metadata, and answer questions about your collection. AI outputs may be:

4. Third-Party Services & Trademarks

Phonox integrates with or retrieves data from the following third-party services. Each is subject to its own terms of service and privacy policy:

All product names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Phonox is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the above services.

Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of Phonox and any API keys they supply complies with each service's terms.

5. Open-Source Licence & No Warranty

Phonox is released under the MIT Licence. The software is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the software.

6. Privacy & Data Storage

Phonox (the application) stores all collection data — records, images, notes, and valuations — in a local PostgreSQL database on your own machine. No collection data is sent to or stored on servers operated by the Phonox project.

When you use Phonox, image data and queries are transmitted to the third-party AI and search services listed above (Anthropic, Tavily, DuckDuckGo) as part of normal operation. Please review their respective privacy policies.

This blog does not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or advertising pixels. No personally identifiable information is collected from visitors.
